Professional Certificate in Electric Drives
Course Objectives
For manufacturing industries, automation is essential to improve productivity and maintain quality and electric drives play an important part. Under this professional certificate, participants will be introduced to the fundamentals of power semiconductor controlled electric drives and its components. The programme also guides the students for review of power semiconductor devices and power converters, dynamics of electrical drives and cascaded control structure for electrical drives. Other topics include thermal model of the electrical machines, classifications of different types of duty cycle for different types of industrial loads, calculation of motor power rating and selection procedures for variable-speed, DC/AC/Synchronous motor drives and Industrial drive application.

Award of Certificate
Participants will be awarded with a Certificate of Participation or Certificate of Completion for each short course, depending on their performance in the overall end-course assessment.
Participants will be awarded a Professional Certificate when they have completed all required short courses with a Certificate of Completion within 12 months.
