This research project aims to contribute significantly to the growing body of knowledge on sustainable developments and green buildings, as well as enhance the multi-disciplinary research amongst experts in construction, environmental design and planning and real estate investment analysis and appraisal.The objectives of this study are as follows:

• To explore the direct costs and benefits to owners and occupiers of green buildings in terms of recurring maintenance costs as well as longer term cyclical costs
• To analyse the impact of green buildings on property rents and values
• To examine how property valuation needs to encompass the increasing trend of green buildings.
