DTK
We are a team of passionate design educators with a vision to create a dynamic and inclusive learning environment where every student discovers their potential as a creative problem solver. We believe that design thinking is not just a skill, but a mindset that can transform how individuals and organisations approach challenges.
We constantly reflect, refine, and explore fresh ways to make design thinking accessible to everyone:
- We are responsible for DTK1234 Design Thinking, the university’s flagship design thinking course.
- We work with faculties to develop domain-specific design thinking programmes.
- We design and facilitate sprint-based workshops that help teams solve problems and create new opportunities.
DTK1234: Design Thinking is our flagship course, offered under the Common Curriculum to students from the College of Design and Engineering (CDE) and the College of Humanities and Sciences (CHS). Serving over 3,700 undergraduates annually, the course employs a blended-learning approach that combines online learning with in-person workshops. Through hands-on activities, DTK1234 empowers students to unlock their creative potential by applying design principles and a human-centred approach to solve problems and envision new possibilities. Beyond developing their own creativity skills, students also come to appreciate the broader impact of design in shaping the world and improving the lives of others.
