COVID-19 shifted our interactions with objects, spaces, interfaces and people, and hidden opportunities that have been overshadowed by all this uncertainty arose. Ultimately, using the COVID-19 group size limitation of 5 as inspiration, we designed a new type of digital watch face that represents time more tangibly, and forces you to think about its finite nature as a depleting resource.

Clocks make time seem like it passes in a cycle, round after round, in a never-ending process. The idea that time passes us by simply exists in our subconscious mind, and we rarely reflect upon it.

So we worked on that, and created a visualisation of the finite nature of time, forcing people to think about time as a depleting resource.

Zi Xin believes in creating things that are simple, yet significant. She enjoys designing unique experiences that move people away from the procedural and implicit memories of how they do things — things people do routinely without having to think — and move them towards more explicit, declarative memories that are stored for the long run. She wants to design opportunities for people to share spur of the moment, transient, playful and meaningful interactions.

Zi Xin is interested in Experiential Design, Interaction Design, Discursive Design.
