"Crafting Ceramic Circuits" won the Grand Prize at the 7th He Chao Zong Cup (De Hua) International Ceramics Industry Design Competition 第七届"何朝宗杯"陶瓷工业设计大赛
This competition took place at Dehua, a county in Fujian province. This place is well known for its white porcelain and has a large ceramics industry. There was a total of 5,327 entries to this competition spanning the themes of "cultural symbiosis", "advanced R&D", "digital economy", and "daily innovation". After a rigorous process, 50 projects were shortlisted to present at the in-person event at Dehua.
Han Bo, a PhD student under the supervision of Clement Zheng, represented the Division at this event. He presented to a jury of eight experts, notably including Liu Guanzhong, an industrial design pioneer and the person responsible for setting up the first industrial design degree programme in China at Tsinghua University!
After an intense full day of presentations and demonstrations, we clinched the only Grand Prize. This prize comes with a cash award of RMB100,000.
"Ceramic Circuits" at Playground of Possibilities, Singapore Design Week 2023
This work was also selected as one of twelve projects to be exhibited at the Playground of Possibilities, the feature exhibition for Singapore Design Week 2023. This exhibition is organised by Design Singapore Council and Black Design Agency.
We had the honour to introducing this work to Ms Low Yen Ling, Minister of State for MTI and MCCY, at the opening ceremony. This exhibition will be open to the public till the end of this year.
