Assistant Professor Clement Zheng (DID Class of 2012)’s Reciproco and Adjunct Lecturer Tiffany Loy (DID Class 2010)’s Mosaic Membrane were exhibited at Future Impact 2 from 16 to 21 April 2024. The exhibition is part of the Milan Design Week during the Salone del Mobile.Milano, the world’s biggest design event.
Reciproco
Clement Zheng, who is heading the Interactive Materials Lab, collaborated with Genevieve Ang on “Reciproco”, a pair of interactive ceramic installation designed to spread warmth and conviviality. The design sets out to push the limits of digital communication by imagining a new way to connect and sense another person remotely.
Mosaic Membrane
Tiffany Loy collaborates with Italian mosaic experts Friul Mosaic on "Mosaic Membrane," a project transforming mosaic tiles into skin-like, three-dimensional forma that can function as furniture pieces. Inspired by Milan's La Rotonda del Pellegrini's vaulted ceiling, the project celebrates the fluidity of textile and mosaic materials.
