Research Interest
Jung-Joo (JJ) is an Associate Professor and Deputy Head (Research) in the Division of Industrial Design at the National University of Singapore. Her research spans Service Design and Co-Design, enabling design processes to strategically address complex social and business problems. Her research programs focused on 1) Service Design for Public Sector Innovation & Organisational Transformation in an Asia context, and 2) Service Design for Emerging Technologies.
She is a Director of Service Design Lab Singapore and has collaborated with multiple government, profit and non-profit organisations, such as the Singapore Ministry of Manpower (MOM), Ministry of Education (MOE), Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), Land Transport Authority (LTA), GovTech, Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS), Port of Singapore Authority (PSA), Rolls-Royce, OCBC Bank, DBS, Johnson Controls, Tan Tock Seng Hospital and so on.
She currently serves on the Design Research Society (DRS)’s International Advisory Council and was a former member of International Society of Service Innovation Professionals (ISSIP).
JJ holds a PhD from Aalto University, Finland, and MSc and BSc in Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST).
