This year’s E-Scholars orientation event marks the first time a full-scale, in-person orientation could be held since the programme was launched in 2019!
The Exco organised a two-day orientation programme to welcome the incoming freshmen.
The first evening was a mentor-mentee session, where freshmen got to meet and interact with their academic mentors over light refreshments. Mentorship is an important aspect of the E-scholars programme, and points such as the objectives and benefits of mentorship were also discussed during the session.
The second day was the long-awaited “Pokemon quest”! In groups, students took part in pokemon-themed station games at various locations around the university. The day ended with a pizza dinner at UTown.
Overall, it was a meaningful and fulfilling event, and the freshmen got to develop bonds with each other as well as with their seniors and mentors.
