Overview

The E-Scholars Programme is a premier programme designed to attract the very best students to read any branch of engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS). Students with exceptional potential will be provided with an enhanced educational experience with the objective of capitalising on academic abilities and personal aspirations to train well-rounded leaders and innovators.

3 yrs BEng + 1 yr MSc or 4 yrs BEng/DDP. E-Scholars will be provided with an accelerated pathway that leads to completion of the chosen Bachelor of Engineering degree in 3 years. During the 4th year, students will pursue a Master degree (3+1). It is also possible to pursue your undergraduate studies in 4 years and obtain a double degree programme (DDP) instead, or embark on other academic pursuits.

Choose your Masters degree. E-Scholars will have the ability to read a Master programme (M.Sc) or Masters of Engineering (M.Eng) of their choice among those offered by any of the CDE Engineering departments. Students will need to seek admission to the Master programme they wish to pursue. Tuition fees of the NUS Master programme that E-Scholars are admitted to will be covered by the scholarship.

Grow with dedicated mentors. E-Scholars will enjoy close supervision and mentoring by a select pool of Faculty staff, with one mentor assigned to each student. The E-Scholar shall meet the mentor regularly to discuss on any matters related to his/her study. The mentor shall also provide advice on matters related to enhancement programmes such as the Student Exchange Programme (SEP) or the NUS Overseas College Programme (NOC).

Live & Learn in University Town. E-Scholars will  enjoy the unique living and learning experience at the iconic NUS University Town. E-Scholars will have the opportunity to stay at  Residential College 4 (RC4), our partner Residential college, where the University Town College Programme (UTCP) is offered. Students can also apply to other University Town colleges, including NUS CollegeCollege of Alice & Peter Tan (CAPT) and Tembusu College .

Develop global perspectives. E-Scholars will enjoy priority admission to one of the NUS Overseas College Programmes (NOC). NOC programme is designed to provide international industry exposure to students. Moreover, students will have priority admission to the Student Exchange Programme (SEP).

Follow your aspirations. E-Scholars will have access to exclusive modules that cater to their own aspirations and leadership. Sixteen modular credits will specifically involve a project that is defined and carried out by the student based on his/her aspirations to make an impact on society.

Cultivate leadership skills. Another module, in collaboration with the NUS Institute of Engineering Leadership (IEL) and other external parties will aim at nurturing key leadership skills.
