FAQ
Scholarship & Reimbursement
Is a scholarship awarded automatically to all those who are selected for the Design & Engineering Scholars Programme?
All Singaporean students who are selected for admission to the Design Scholars or Engineering Scholars Programme will be awarded the Design Scholars or Engineering Scholars scholarship (see here for more details), unless special arrangement with another scholarship awarding agency has been made. There is no bond for those awarded these aforementioned scholarships.
Is the scholarship awarded to non-Singaporeans?
The Design & Engineering Scholars scholarship will only be awarded to Singapore Citizens with local qualifications.
Am I still eligible for the Design and Engineering Scholars Programme if I am receiving another scholarship?
Yes, however, please note that recipients of the Design & Engineering Scholars scholarship may not concurrently hold any other scholarship, fellowship, grant or award without prior approval from the University.
How does an Design & Engineering Scholar get reimbursed for the payment that he/she has to fork out first?
For reimbursement, the Design & Engineering Scholar will be advised to fill up the relevant form. The reimbursement applies for approved academic activities (e.g., iBLOC courses, Advanced Placement Tests). The duly completed form is to be submitted together with all supporting documents and original receipts to the Design & Engineering Scholars office via email (dscholars@nus.edu.sg, escholars@nus.edu.sg), as and when the units for the academic activities are added to the student’s records (i.e. passed Advanced Placement Tests). All reimbursements shall be subjected to the approval of the Design & Engineering Scholars Director.
