Transforming Business with Design and Storytelling

Many people think of the word “design” as relating to the development of products, spaces, and communication. But when design is thought of as a verb, a process, or an action, and view it outside of an aesthetic result, the impact of design becomes infinitely more scalable and applicable across domains.

Businesses have long been stuck in a pattern of repeating the same practices and copying competitors, leaving them undifferentiated and vulnerable to competition. But the creative methods we use to solve problems in the physical design world can be used to open powerful new ways for how we creatively solve problems in business. Applying data-driven creative design principles can transform how organisations work, how they grow, how organisations manage change, and how people succeed in their lives.

This moderated talk will illuminate the intersection of design, storytelling, and business transformation, setting the context for designers to think more broadly about their work and how they can expand their impact on the world. The discussion will focus on a holistic approach to business transformation and how many of the processes used by designers are scalable to the creation of new business strategies, new product lines, new sales channels, and new strategic partnerships. Join us as we bring together design with business transformation and explore new ways of design thinking for growth.
