Internships

For Engineering MEng/PhD students

Internships provide students with practical learning and an opportunity to conduct research and gain work experience at the company premise.

Internships are optional for most MEng/PhD students, with the exception of scholars in receipt of the industry-relevant scholarship (such scholars would have been informed via the offer letter).

Students who wish to take up internships are to consult their Thesis Advisor(s) before enrolling in the Industrial Attachment course (xx5666, where xx in the course code denotes the Department prefix).   This is a 4 Unit course [CS/CU (Completed Satisfactory/Completed Unsatisfactory) graded], for attachment to a company from 60 working days to 1 year.   Details are available in the Student Portal

For Companies

Companies with projects that provide excellent learning opportunities for our research-based programme students (MEng/PhD) are most welcome to engage our research students through internship at your premise.

If your Company has internship opportunities, you may either:

  • contact the relevant academic staff (especially if you have prior engagement with the staff) based on the identified research areas; or
  • contact the relevant Department(s); or
  • advertise them directly on the job portal, NUS TalentConnect
