Innovus is derived from the Latin root word for Innovation — to make new and novel. 

Innovus@CDE is a series of events and challenges aimed at promoting innovation and entrepreneurship among research staff, students and alumni. Organised by the CDE Office of Research and Industry, participants of the innovation challenges will take their ideas from concepts to working products over six months. Talks and workshops will be conducted to equip teams with the knowledge, skills and connections needed to thrive in the business world. Teams will pitch for prizes of up to S$100,000 funding, on Innovation Day, 25 Oct 2024.

• To create awareness of NUS resources and opportunities for innovation and entrepreneurship among CDE students
• To identify and support CDE students with potential for innovation and entrepreneurship
• To showcase innovative student projects to potential investors and industry collaborators

There are two innovation challenges:
Eureka for projects with Technology Readiness Level (TRL) < 3.

The challenge registration closes on 8 July 2024. To benefit from the workshops, you are encouraged to register by 15 May 2024.

Current NUS students (undergraduate or postgraduate).
Recent NUS alumni (class of 2021–2024).

A minimum team size of two is required. Matching can be provided during the InnoACCELERATE workshops.

Whether you have a spark of an idea or a working prototype, all are welcome to participate. Support will be provided.

Eureka Prizes and Benefits
Three winners will win a cash prize of S$10,000 each and NUS Enterprise HANGAR Incubation (subject to renewal).

Impact Accelerator Prizes and Benefits

The kick off event, InnoAWARE was held on 12 April 2024. All students and researchers were invited to participate to learn about Innovus@CDE and ask any questions.

Led by industry experts, these workshops will cover a wide range of topics crucial to entrepreneurial success.

InnoACCELERATE covers a comprehensive curriculum in design thinking, value proposition and business model canvassing. Through interactive sessions, case studies and real-world examples, teams will gain hands-on experience and learn how to apply the concepts and strategies directly to their ideas.

InnoNETWORK provides teams with invaluable networking opportunities. Teams will connect with like-minded individuals, mentors and potential investors who can provide guidance, support and collaboration opportunities.

InnoPITCH will equip teams with skills to effectively pitch their ideas or business concepts, present a convincing case and attract support and investment.

The workshops are mandatory. Valid reasons for not attending will be considered on a case by case basis.

Innovation Day is the culmination of Innovus@CDE. Held on 25 October 2024, expect finalists to pitch it out for prizes, an exhibition showcasing innovative research, keynote speeches from entrepreneurial alumni and much more!
