Continuously tune the work function of conductors in a wide range for the first time.

Continuously tune the work function of conductors in a wide range for the first time. Ouyang Jianyong and his team developed a novel method to continuously tune the work function of ITO, Ag, Au, PEDOT:PSS and rGO in a wide range by using controlling the ratio of Cu2+ to poly(amido amine) (generation 3) (PAMAM). The mechanism for the work function change is ascribed to the effect of Cu2+ on the interfacial dipole moment between substrates and Cu2+-PAMAM. They also demonstrated its application in high-performance polymer solar cells. This work has been published in Advanced Functional Materials.
