Recent News Looking Inside Nanoscale Catalyst Materials Shows How Interfacial Structure Steers Conversion of CO₂ to Fuels Using Renewable Electricity Researchers in Dr. Andrew B. Wong’s lab have built model electrode materials that lets them watch— and quantify—how tiny variations in local (micro)environment dictate the outcome of the electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide (CO₂RR). CO2RR uses renewable energy to convert CO2 into useful chemicals such as ethanol and ethylene towards the broader goal of achieving Faculty honoured at CDE Awards and Recognition ceremony The CDE Awards and Recognition Ceremony is held annually to celebrate faculty who display excellence in their research and a passion for teaching. This year’s ceremony was held at CDE’s Lecture Theatre 7A on 21 April 2025 and included awards and recognition for: Provost’s Chair Dean’s Chair CDE Young Researcher Award 2025 CDE Researcher Award CDE ranks in world’s top 10 in six subjects including Materials Science and Engineering Further cementing its position among the world’s best, CDE has been named in the global top 10 for six subjects in the latest Quacquarelli Symonds World University Rankings (QS WUR) by Subject 2025. In the ranking, released on 12 March 2025, CDE ranked in the global top five for three subjects: Civil and Structural Engineering,
