Materials Science is one of the top subjects in NUS, ranking 2nd in the world and 1st in Asia

In the 2026 Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings (WUR) by Subject released on 25 March 2026, the National University of Singapore(NUS) has achieved its strongest performance to date, and Materials Science is one of the top subjects in NUS, ranking 2nd in the world (significantly up from 6th in 2025) and 1st in Asia.

In the 2026 Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings (WUR) by Subject released on 25 March 2026, the National University of Singapore(NUS) has achieved its strongest performance to date, and Materials Science is one of the top subjects in NUS, ranking 2nd in the world (significantly up from 6th in 2025) and 1st in Asia.

The latest rankings reflect NUS Materials Science and Engineering’s excellence across key indicators, including academic reputation, employer recognition, research output, and citation impact.

This achievement highlights the dedication of NUS Materials Science and Engineering’s faculty, researchers, and students, as well as the department’s commitment to fostering a dynamic and collaborative research ecosystem.

The QS WUR by Subject is an independent comparative analysis of academic offerings by universities worldwide. This year’s edition evaluated more than 21,000 academic offerings from 1,912 institutions across 100 countries, spanning 55 academic disciplines and five broad subject areas.
