Dr. Fang-Cheng Liang joined the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS) as a Lecturer in 2024. Before joining NUS, he was a Research Assistant Professor at the Research and Development Center for Smart Textile Technology at the National Taipei University of Technology, Taiwan. He earned dual Ph.D. degrees in Organic Chemistry and Polymer Science and Engineering from the University Grenoble Alpes and National Taipei University of Technology in 2019. He is also a member of the Materials Horizons Community Board. His research focuses on sustainable self-healing soft materials, reconfigurable liquid crystal elastomers, and metal particle applications for 3D-printed micro/nanostructures, soft robotics, and wearable electronics. He has authored over 20 peer-reviewed journal articles including Advanced Materials, Advanced Functional Materials, Advanced Science, and Chemical Engineering Journal.
Research Interests
Dr. Fang-Cheng Liang’s research group is an interdisciplinary team dedicated to exploring the synergistic effects between the physical and chemical principles of soft materials and their intrinsic self-healing functions. Our goal is to design and synthesize novel self-healing polymers specifically tailored for soft and wearable electronics.
