CDE Masonic Charitable Fund bursary receives three new gifts

CDE has received three new endowed gifts totalling S$100,000 towards the Masonic Charitable Fund (MCF) Bursary in support of financially disadvantaged students

A signing ceremony for the donations was held at CDE on 12 January 2024, attended by CDE Acting Dean, Professor Teo Kie Leong, senior College faculty and leadership, as well as representatives of donors and the Masonic Charitable Fund led by Dato Jeyaraj Ratnaswamy, Patron, and Dr Brian Shegar, Chairman of The Masonic Charitable Fund.

In his welcome, Prof Teo said: “On behalf of the College, I would like to express our appreciation to Dr Brian Shegar and his team for their continuous support to raise funds to help our students in CDE.”

The MCF Bursary was established by the Masonic Charitable Fund in 2022 and aims to provide assistance to financially disadvantaged students in CDE.

The three new gifts for the bursary are:

  • A donation of S$50,000 made possible by the MCF - AE Beavis Dalhousie Chapter.
  • A donation of S$25,000 contributed by MCF - Ramgopal Menon Eastern Gate Lodge.
  • A donation of S$25,000 contributed by MCF - John Stewart Lodge The Lodge of St George.

Since its establishment, MCF has been actively contributing to the MCF Bursary.
