Engineering faculty named Singapore National Academy of Science Fellows

Congratulations to three faculty members from NUS Engineering who have been named Fellows of the Singapore National Academy of Science (SNAS).

Prof Antonio Helio Castro Neto, from the Departments of Materials Science and Engineering and Electrical and Computer Engineering. He is also Director of the NUS Centre for Advanced 2D Materials.

Prof Lim Chwee Teck, Department of Biomedical Engineering, inaugural NUSS Chair Professor, and Director of the NUS Institute for Health Innovation and Technology (iHealthtech).

Prof Liu Bin, Provost's Chair Professor, NUS Vice President (Research and Technology), and Head of the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. She is known as a leader in the field of organic functional materials for energy and biomedical applications.

Founded in 1976, the SNAS aims to both promote the promote the advancement of science and technology in Singapore as well as represent the scientific opinions of its members. Fellows of the SNAS are chosen based on having made an outstanding contribution to science in Singapore.

According to the SNAS, Fellows of the Academy "advise and/or contribute to the government and other national organisations on various aspects of science including research, teaching, science policy, promotion and public communication of science."
