Operation Orion Goes Platinum

The flagship overseas community service programme of the Civil Engineering Club was recognised with the top Platinum award at the NUS Student Achievement Awards 2017!

Since 2000, students from Civil Engineering and other engineering disciplines have been putting their knowledge and skills to good use designing and building infrastructure in rural villages around Asia.

A wholly student-initiated project by the Civil Engineering ClubOperation Orion not only gives students the opportunity to apply classroom learning in a concrete way, but it also brings a deeper understanding and appreciation of the vital role of the engineer in society and its development.

For it continued and sustained contribution to overseas communities as well as the holistic educational experience of students, Operation Orion won the Platinum award in the Community Projects category at the NUS Student Achievement Awards 2017.
