Prof Dean Ho, Provost's Chair Professor at NUS Biomedical Engineering and NUS Pharmacology, Director of NUS SINAPSE (Singapore Institute for Neurotechnology) and member of NUS BIGHEART (Biomedical Institute for Global Health Research and Technology) was elected as Fellow of the prestigious US National Academy of Inventors (NAI). This is the highest professional distinction for academic inventors. Prof Ho is recognised for his prolific spirit of innovation in creating or facilitating outstanding inventions that have made a tangible impact on quality of life, economic development and the welfare of society.
Prof Ho is the only Singapore-based academic inventor to receive the esteemed accolade this year, as well as the first-ever NUS academic to do so. The Fellowship will be conferred on 11 April 2019 as part of the Eighth NAI Annual Meeting which will be held at the Space Center Houston in Houston, Texas.
