Professor Dean Ho, head of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, has been presented with the 2023 Achievement Award from CESASC (Chinese-American Engineers and Scientists Association of Southern California).
The Achievement Award is given annually by the association to recognise innovation from honourees of Asian descent that has led to real-world impact on humanity.
Commenting on the award, Prof Ho said: “I’m deeply honoured to receive this award, which represents a collective effort from our team, NUS community and Singapore ecosystem, patients and caregivers, to advance practice-changing innovations in healthcare. I’m so thankful for the privilege of working with our colleagues at NUS.”
Prof Ho is also Director of the N.1 Institute for Health (N.1) and the Institute for Digital Medicine (WisDM), both at NUS.
Founded in 1962, CESASC is a non-partisan organisation to advocate and champion innovation from those of Asian descent.
A former president of CESAC was Professor Lewis Au, who held the role of Dean of NUS Engineering in the early 1970s.
