NUS Cites Advisory pillar plans to offer strategic advice, leveraging on its diverse disciplinary expertise and extensive research knowledge based on urban and architectural engineering systems that require interdisciplinary solutions,
e.g., in designing for urban sustainability and resilience, climate change adaptation and mitigation, low carbon development.

Our advisory community consists of key partners across external organisations, research agencies and university departments. Sited in SDE1, NUS Cities Advisory shall serve as a corporate leadership and advisory hub for translational research and real-world project implementation within and outside the NUS Campus, covering both public and private sector strategic policy and physical development programmes.

Internal Advisory

The NUS Cities Advisory team collaborates with NUS University Campus Infrastructure on key sustainable developments on the NUS campus such as the Yusof Ishak House (YIH), student housing and academic buildings.

YIH

Yusof Ishak House (YIH)

YIH is a new students' hub designed to achieve net-zero energy for conservation and adaptive re-use. Developed in collaboration with the Department of Architecture and NUS Cities' experts, it demonstrates an effective strategy for campus sustainability by optimising the operational performance of built assets.

External Advisory

The NUS Cities Advisory team champions a portfolio of regional and international sustainable urban development projects and strategic advisory collaborations and services.

Strategic Partnership with the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT)

The Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) has launched a strategic partnership with NUS Cities, a multidisciplinary centre hosted within the National University of Singapore’s (NUS) College of Design and Engineering, as part of the DMT Future Hub initiative.

Transforming the Construction Industry: Building the Future of Net Zero Buildings

The workshop was conducted for 30 YPO C-Suite members from Southeast Asia, empowering them with insights and strategies to drive sustainability and innovation within the construction sector.

This half-day event featured dynamic discussions, expert presentations, and interactive sessions designed to explore key issues and catalyze actionable solutions.
