When you give to scholarships at the College of Design and Engineering, you will help the College to attract, motivate, and nurture the best and brightest students. Your support is vital in unlocking opportunities for future generations to achieve and excel.

Scholarships recognize the academic achievements of students. You can choose to support either a full-term scholarship or an annual renewable scholarship. Your scholarship can be tailored to support a particular nationality, such as Singaporean students, or an interest, such as a major.

Scholarships can be endowed or expendable; your gift makes all the difference in supporting our brightest students to reach their potential. In recognition, we may offer a naming opportunity for a minimum expendable gift of S$45,000, or a minimum endowed gift of S$150,000. You can choose to fulfill your gift as a multi-year pledge.

Bursaries

When you give to bursaries, you will enable motivated and deserving students to receive a quality education based on their ability to learn but not their financial capacity to pay.

No student should be deprived of a university education due to a financially disadvantaged background. Your unwavering support and generosity are instrumental in ensuring no student is left behind. Bursaries play a vital role in enabling students to realize their fullest potential through a holistic and well-rounded education.

Bursaries are awarded to students, after receiving both government and NUS study loans, who still require financial assistance.

When making your gift, you can choose an endowed bursary or expendable bursary. In recognition, we may offer a naming opportunity for a minimum expendable gift of S$45,000, or a minimum endowed gift of S$150,000. You can also choose to fulfill your gift as a multi-year pledge.

Medals & Prizes

Medals and prizes recognize the academic achievements of students in a particular major or subject. Your gift will nurture scholars towards holistic excellence in pursuits that make a positive impact on our community, nation, and the world.

When you give to medals and prizes, you will inspire and motivate students at the College of Design and Engineering to excel and attain better academic results.

When making your gift, you can choose an endowed prize or expendable prize. In recognition, we may offer a naming opportunity for a minimum expendable gift of S$15,000, or a minimum endowed gift of S$75,000. You can choose to fulfill your gift as a multi-year pledge.

Alumni and Commencement Class Giving

Started in 2007, Commencement Class Giving (CCG) is a longstanding tradition where student volunteers from the graduating class, also known as Class Champions, rally their peers to make a gift in support of students in need. Every student has at least one professor they will remember for a lifetime. These visionary individuals would have been a mentor, someone they aspired to follow, who sparked in them a love for discovery and learning.

A gift towards professorships and academic support enables the College to continue to recruit and retain exceptional faculty – men and women with a passion for their areas of expertise.

Distinguished Professorship

A distinguished professorship is awarded to either a tenured full professor at the College, or an external candidate for a tenured professorship, who has demonstrated excellence and international recognition in innovative research and superior performance in the field. They celebrate the accomplishments of our faculty with respect to research, education, and innovation that benefit knowledge creation, industry, and society.

The endowment of a distinguished professorship is a significant commitment that demonstrates the vision of the donor. The minimum gift level to name a distinguished professorship is S$5,000,000.

Professorship

The income derived from an endowed professorship will be awarded to professors to pursue new lines of research and develop innovative teaching methods. They will help to perpetuate the University's reputation for academic excellence by stimulating young minds, mentoring junior faculty members, and postdoctoral students. When you support a professorship, you become our partner in securing the best education for our students.

The minimum gift level to name a professorship is S$2,000,000.

Fellowship

An endowed fellowship at the College of Design and Engineering facilitates first-rate research and helps to promote the development of young outstanding academics. They conduct their work under the guidance and supervision of senior faculty members. Through these mentorships, talented and committed young researchers are transformed into excellent scholars.

The minimum gift level to name a fellowship is S$625,000.

Faculty Research Fund

The faculty research fund is awarded to faculty members to explore important fields of study; fund their frontier research and help them to attract additional funding from other sources. The mandate is to encourage and support a variety of thought leadership and research activities and support the building of intellectual capital through research.

The minimum gift level to name a faculty research fund is S$150,000.
