Class of 1973 Engineering Bursary (2013)
The NUS Engineering Class of 1973, which is the University’s pioneering engineering alumni, celebrated 40 years of friendship and camaraderie at its ruby anniversary celebrations held on 28 June 2013. Despite the passage of years, they remained close, and about 130 classmates attended the celebrations. At the reunion dinner, the Chairman of the Reunion Committee presented a cheque to the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering to set up the Class of 1973 Engineering Bursary. The bursary supports undergraduates from the College of Design and Engineering who are facing financial difficulties.
Class of 1976 Engineering Bursary (2011)
The NUS Class of 1976 Engineering Committee, chaired by NUS Faculty of Engineering alumnus Mr Leong Yue Wing, was formed in 2011. Through the class reunion fundraising campaign, it has successfully raised monies to support an endowed bursary for financially disadvantaged engineering students. Thanks to this initiative, the Class has realised its aspiration to help nurture a spirit of adventure and passion to make a difference among students from their Faculty. Today, the Committee continues to organise regular gatherings for classmates and raise funds for the Bursary. The Bursary benefits about 40 students yearly.

Class of 1988 Mechanical Engineering Bursary (2018)
As part of their 30th class anniversary (in 2018), the Class of ME88 has raised funds for a bursary for needy undergraduates in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. They hope their gift will relieve some of the financial burdens for the financially disadvantaged students.
Engineering Class of 1979 Bursary (2020)
During the 40th reunion of the Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering graduates of the Class of 1979, Committee Chairman Mr Tang Weng Fei rallied the Class to raise funds for students in need after a fireside chat with the Dean of Engineering. The Engineering Class of 1979 Bursary was established with their gift. It is available to Singaporean undergraduates from the NUS College of Design and Engineering.
ENG @ 82 Bursary (2010)
The Engineering Class of 1982 established the ENG @ 82 Bursary to provide financial assistance to needy full-time undergraduates. This bursary is tenable for the academic year in which it is awarded.

ME90 Bursary (2016)
In celebration of the Class’s 25th anniversary since graduation, the Mechanical Engineering Class of 1990 established this fund to support financially disadvantaged students at the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
Masonic Charitable Fund Bursary
The Masonic Charitable Fund (MCF) was established in 2019 with the aim to provide educational assistance to financially disadvantaged students. Since its establishment, Dr Brian Shegar, Chairman of MCF and fellow trustees have actively approached the Freemasonry’s masonic lodges in Singapore to jointly give back to the community. In January 2022, the MCF and the Lodge Singapore made their first donation to NUS to provide crucial assistance to financially disadvantaged undergraduates from the College of Design and Engineering (CDE). CDE was chosen as the first beneficiary in NUS because it resonates with the roots of Freemasonry that Guilds of Stone Masons were the original architects, engineers, designers, and sculptors who built cathedrals, castles and other structures during the Medieval Era. Since then, the MCF and its various lodges have been steadfast in its commitment, actively contributing to the Masonic Charitable Fund Endowed Bursary. Class of 1974 Engineering Bursary (2014)
The Faculty of Engineering Class of 1974 successfully raised funds to help needy Engineering students during its class reunion. The organising committee for the reunion was chaired by Mr Moses Lee, Chairman of Sentosa Development Corporation, and co-chaired by Mr Tang Kin Fei, Group President & CEO of Sembcorp Industries. Over 100 people collectively gave the largest sum ever to be raised at an Engineering alumni reunion dinner. The funds support the Class of 1974 Engineering Bursary Fund which enables financially needy engineering students to experience a well-rounded university education.
CSE Global Engineering Bursary (2014)
The Singapore-headquartered global technologies company, CSE Global Limited (CSE), is committed to helping engineering students, and most of its employees have an engineering background. In line with this commitment, Mr Lim Boon Kheng, CSE Group Managing Director; Mr Tan Mok Koon, a CSE pioneer; Mr Lim Ming Seong, Chairman; and the Board of Directors together decided to set up a fund to establish the CSE Global Engineering Bursary. Mr Lim explained the rationale for the bursary, saying, “We hope the bursary can lighten the financial burden of the students.”
Engineering Excellence Bursary (2019)
Mr Mervyn Sirisensa, a highly accomplished and passionate Singaporean engineer, established this bursary to support financially disadvantaged undergraduates who are passionate about pursuing a career in engineering. He hopes to encourage more undergraduates to pursue engineering degrees at NUS and go on to become successful engineers.
MSV Asia Bursary (2021)
MSV Systems & Services Pte Ltd is a semiconductor and pharmaceutical services provider established in 2002. Mr Joe Tan Teck Huat, Director of MSV, initiated contact with faculty with the intention to make a gift as part of the company's corporate social responsibility (CSR), using money it received from the government under the Jobs Support Scheme (JSS), which provided wage support for employers to retain their local employees during the COVID-19 outbreak. The bursary, named in recognition of the company, is available to Singaporean or Singapore PR undergraduates studying engineering.
Seagate Bursary (2014)
Founded in 1979, Seagate is the leading provider of hard drivers and storage solutions. As part of the company’s commitment to the Singapore community, the Seagate Bursary was established. The Bursary is available to financially needy Singaporeans or Singapore PR undergraduates from the NUS College of Design and Engineering and is aimed at developing a pool of STEM talent for the future.
Takuya Nishida-Jeffrey Lee Bursary (2014)
Supported by an anonymous donor, this Bursary celebrates the spirit of giving back and deep friendship between Takuya Nishida and Jeffrey Lee. Both are long-time great friends who met each other during their university days. Having been recipients of scholarships and bursaries during their education, both are grateful for the financial assistance and opportunities given to them and the impact it has made on their lives. The Gift is used to award bursaries to Singaporean and Singapore PR undergraduates, who are enrolled in the Faculty of Engineering.
Tay Lai Hee Bursary (2012)
Mr Tay Lai Hee was the only member in his family to have the opportunity to pursue a tertiary education. Although World War II interrupted his studies at the Hong Kong University, he never forgot the importance of education. He ensured that all his children — including his daughters — went as far as they wanted, and could, academically. To honour his belief in education for all, regardless of gender, his daughter, Ms Tay Sok Kian, established this Bursary, which supports financially needy engineering students.
ABS Scholarship (2012)
ABS is a leading international classification society devoted to promoting the security of life and property and preserving the natural environment through the development and verification of standards for the design, construction, and operational maintenance of marine and offshore assets. ABS has a longstanding commitment to investing in the future of the maritime industry. The scholarship is awarded every year in January or February to deserving students in the Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) with a specialisation in Offshore Engineering or the Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) with a specialisation in Offshore Oil and Gas Technology.
Chin Peng Lim and Chin Kim Choo Scholarship (2020)
In 2020, Mr Chin Thoe Chong established Scholarship to the School of Design and Environment (now College of Design and Engineering) in memory of his late parents, Mr Chin Peng Lim and Mrs Chin Kim Choo.
Engineering Class of 1983 Scholarship (2019)
Following a fireside chat with the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering in 2018, Er Tan Seng Chuan and his peers from the Class of 1983 launched a fundraising effort to support a scholarship for deserving students at the College of Design and Engineering. The alumnus of the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering is the Managing Director of Tembusu Asia Consulting Pte Ltd.
Hermes‐Epitek Innovation Scholarship (2022)
Headquartered in Hsinchu, Taiwan, Hermes-Epitek is one of the world’s largest high-tech equipment distributors. It incorporated its Singapore base in 1992 to serve the semiconductor industry here, to the mutual benefit of both countries. This Scholarship was established as an act of reciprocity for Hermes-Epitek’s 30 good years in Singapore. It is awarded to deserving Singaporean undergraduate and graduate students, preferably undertaking courses related to scanning electron microscopes, such as Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Material Science & Engineering and Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering.
Jixun and Serene - E-Scholars Programme Scholarship (2017)
Both Mr and Mrs Foo Jixun are based in China, where Mr Foo serves as the CEO of GGV Capital. Mr Foo is an alumnus of NUS and had previously worked with the National Science and Technology Board. After relocating, he took on advisory roles and directorships in several major organisations, including GrabTax and TJia.com. Mdm Serene Siar, who is also an NUS alumna, actively volunteers and runs school programmes such as Character Education, World Scholars Club and the Girl Scouts. Through the establishment of this Scholarship, Mr and Mrs Foo are delighted to provide support to undergraduate students enrolled in the E-Scholars Programme.
Kathleen Koh Seok Hoon Scholarship (2012)
The late Ms Kathleen Koh earned a Diploma in Civil Engineering from the Singapore Polytechnic before obtaining a Master of Engineering Science degree at NUS. By 30, she had earned the affectionate name of Madam Jetty for her noteworthy achievements in this field. Her final job was Managing Director of BMT Asia Pacific. The endowed Kathleen Koh Seok Hoon Scholarship is awarded to students in the Bachelors of Engineering (Civil) and (Chemical) programmes. Each academic year, it alternates between the two programmes.
LBC Family Engineering Exchange Scholarship (2012)
Mr Loh Boon Chye, an NUS alumnus from the Faculty of Engineering, believes that undergoing a Student Exchange Programme (SEP) will add depth and breadth to an undergraduate’s education and experience. The LBC Family Engineering Exchange Scholarship was established to support financially-needy students for SEP. The Scholarship enables students to broaden their horizons and perspectives.
Micron Scholarship (2010)
Micron Technology is a world leader in memory and semiconductor technology. Micron offers the industry’s broadest portfolio of silicon-to-semiconductor solutions — starting with foundational DRAM, NAND and NOR Flash memory, and extending to SSDs, modules, MCPs, HMC and other semiconductor solutions. In the true spirit of the Micron Foundation, which is committed to the advancement of education and local communities, Micron Semiconductor Asia is supporting the development and growth of young talent and inspiring a passion for engineering among students through the Micron Scholarship. The Scholarship supports full-time undergraduates for four years of studies in electrical, computer, mechanical, chemical, industrial & systems engineering or material science engineering. One student will be selected each academic year for the scholarship.
MSV Asia Scholarship (2021)
MSV Systems & Services Pte Ltd (MSV) established the MSV Asia Scholarship in 2022 to recognize outstanding CDE undergraduates who are specializing in courses related to semiconductors. It is a full-term scholarship offered to undergraduates in Year 1 and throughout the four years of the course.
Teo Cheng Kim Scholarship (2018)
The Professional Engineers Board Singapore (PEB) is a statutory board established in 1971. Its mission is to safeguard life, property, and the welfare of the public by setting and maintaining high standards for registering professional engineers, and by regulating and advancing the practice of professional engineering. The PEB Scholarships are awarded to students with outstanding academic performance and strong records of participation in co-curricular activities. The Scholarships are awarded annually to first-year and second-year undergraduates in the Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering programmes.
Super Galvanising - Engineering Scholars (E-Scholars) Programme Scholarship (2017)
Super Galvanising Pte Ltd, which provides metal coating and allied services, established this scholarship to provide support to undergraduate students enrolled in the E-Scholars Programme.
Teo Cheng Kim Scholarship (2018)
In 2018, Professor Ho Teck Hua made gift to the Faculty of Engineering to support an endowed scholarship, in memory of his late mother, Madam Teo Cheng Kim. The scholarship is awarded to students who exhibit academic excellence, high intellectual capacity and integrity.

Hardy Chan Award
Established in honour of Prof Hardy Chan, who is the founding Head of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE). This fund is to award the top undergraduates in polymer materials, either in the module or final year project. Your gift will inspire and motivate students in the Department of MSE to excel and do well academically.
Class of 1976 Engineering Overseas Learning Assistance Grant
Established in early 2019 by alumni from the Class of 1976 who wanted to help needy students afford an overseas experience. This new initiative allows students to apply for financial aid for overseas exchange programmes, study trips or overseas internships.
Overseas Chinese Cultural Heritage Programme (海外华人文化遗产项目)
A programme at the Centre for Sustainable Asian Cities in the NUS College of Design and Engineering. The aim is to promote research and education on the cultural heritage of the Chinese community in Singapore (and Southeast Asia) from urban and architectural perspectives.
