DDP students in Chemical Engineering must read CN5111, CN5191, one BBA module, and one more Business Essential Module which will count towards the Business degree only. |
Total (minimum) | 208 |
Note 1:Â It is not compulsory for DDP students to do a specialisation for the BBA degree. Students who wish to specialise in a business area may have to read extra modules to meet the respective specialisation requirement. DDP students whose home faculty is Business will be required to do a specialisation if they withdraw from the DDP and return to the single degree programme in Business.
Note 2: Students who have done IE3100M Systems Design Project have the option of reading two Level 4000 Business modules in lieu of the compulsory field service project. This concession only applies to DDP students in Industrial & Systems Engineering.
BBA Foundation Modules
Students must complete all the following BBA core modules:
- ACC1002 Financial Accounting (4 MCs)
- ACC2002 Managerial Accounting (4 MCs)
- BSP1004 Legal Environment of Business (4 MCs)
- BSP1005 Managerial Economics (4 MCs)
- BSP2001 Macro and International Economics (4 MCs)
- BSP2005 Asian Business Environments (4 MCs)
- BSP3001 Strategic Management (4 MCs)
- DSC2006 Operations Management (4 MCs)
- DSC2008 Business Analytics – Data & Decisions (4 MCs)
- FIN2004 Finance (4 MCs)
- MKT1003 Marketing (4 MCs)
- MNO1001 Management and Organisation (4 MCs)
- MNO2009 Entrepreneurship (4 MCs)
Notes for DDP students in Industrial & Systems Engineering:
- Students who have read Students who have read neither ST1131 nor DSC2008 would only need to read ST1131 if their home faculty is Engineering or DSC2008 if their home faculty is Business.
- Since ST1131 and DSC2008 are equivalent modules, students from Engineering who have read DSC2008 (instead of ST1131) would need to read one Business module (minimum Level 2000) as replacement for DSC2008. Conversely, students from Business who have read ST1131 (instead of DSC2008) would need to read one Engineering module (minimum Level 2000) as replacement for ST1131.
- Students from Engineering who have read DSC2008 instead of ST1131 do not need to read the latter if they withdraw from the DDP. Similarly, students from Business who have read ST1131 instead of DSC2008 do not need to read the latter if they withdraw from the DDP.
Compulsory Common Modules
Students must complete all the following compulsory common modules:
- ES1501% Academic Expository Writing (4 MCs)
- MA1505 Mathematics I (4 MCs)
- MNO2007 Leadership and Ethics (4 MCs)
ES1501% Academic Expository Writing replaces ES1531 Critical Thinking & Writing, ES2331 Communicating Engineering, and ES2002 Business Communication. DDP students are strongly encouraged to read ES1501% so that they do not need to read an additional communications module which will add to the total workload.
Engineering students who do not read ES1501% will need to complete one of the following combinations:
- ES1531 Critical Thinking & Writing (4 MCs) and ES2331 Communicating Engineering (4 MCs)
- ES1531 Critical Thinking & Writing (4 MCs) and ES2002 Business Communication (4 MCs)
ES1531 will be classified as C2 (for students whose home faculty is Business) while ES2331 and ES2002 will be classified as CA.
For DDP students who are also in USP, RVRC or UTCP, the respective specially-tailored writing and communication modules in these programmes will be deemed as equivalent of ES1501X:
- USP: Writing and Critical Thinking Module (4 MCs) – classified as CA
- RVRC: ES1601 Professional and Academic Communication (4 MCs) – classified as CA
- UTCP: UTW1001% (4 MCs) and UTW2001% (4 MCs) – classified as CA
MA1505 Mathematics I replaces DSC1007 Business Analytics – Models & Decisions.
MNO2007 Leadership and Ethics replaces EG2401 Engineering Professionalism.
