Appreciation Lunch with the Golf Organising Committee

On 16 July 2025, the College of Design and Engineering (CDE) held its first fundraising event — NUS 120th Anniversary Charity Golf @ Sentosa — which successfully raised $2.87 million in support of student bursaries. This milestone event reflects the strong spirit of giving within the CDE community and the enduring commitment of its alumni.

To extend appreciation to the alumni who played a pivotal role in this success, CDE hosted an Appreciation Lunch with the Golf Organising Committee on 28 July 2025 at NUSS Kent Ridge Guild House.

During the lunch, Prof Heng Chye Kiang (Deputy Dean, CDE), Prof Richard Liew (Head, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering), and Asst Prof Chew Soon Hoe (Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering) presented the NUS Benefactor Tokens to alumni champions Mr Seah Cheng San, Mr Edwin Seow, and Mr Wong Jin Kok in recognition of their leadership and contributions to the success of the NUS 120th Anniversary Charity Golf @ Sentosa event.

We would also like to express our heartfelt appreciation to Mr Yeo Keng Joon whose valuable contributions have greatly supported the fundraising. Although Mr Yeo was unable to join us at the appreciation event, we deeply value his dedication and impact.

Mr Seah, together with Mr Seow, Mr Wong and Mr Yeo, also led a group of alumni from the Engineering Class of 1982 to collectively establish a faculty-level endowed bursary fund in 2009, demonstrating their long-standing commitment to supporting CDE students and giving back to their alma mater.

Their generosity and leadership continue to inspire the CDE community and strengthen the culture of giving among alumni.
