System Analysis
Introduction to Data Analytics
In today's data-driven world, the ability to extract valuable insights from large datasets is a crucial skill. This course aims to introduce the fundamental knowledge and practical skills needed to embark on a journey into the exciting fields of data analytics, data visualization, and data storytelling.
Relevant Programme: Industrial Systems Engineering
Max Capacity: 50 pax
Introduction to Data-Driven Operations Research
In this workshop, we'll use the data-driven newsvendor problem as an example to showcase how machine learning and operations research can tackle real-world issues. To demonstrate the concept, we'll utilize a dataset and a case study.
Relevant Programme: Industrial Systems Engineering
Max capacity: 50 pax
Introduction to System Modelling & Simulation
Delve into System Thinking and explore the concepts of Causal Loop Diagrams (CLD) and Stock-Flow Diagrams (SFD). Gain insight into the world of simulation, understand FlexSim fundamentals, and discover its relevance in travel networks. Engage in a compelling case study focused on a travel agency. Join us in this enlightening journey through System Thinking and FlexSim applications!
Relevant Programme: Industrial Systems Engineering
Max capacity: 20 pax
Net Zero Emissions Systems Analysis
This workshop is an introduction into the application of systems engineering tools and analysis to climate mitigation and sustainability. Students will be exposed to a variety of quantitative tools and systems thinking skills to approach the problem of achieving net zero emissions for a country through an interactive card game. In the card game, different groups of students will represent different sectors in a country and attempt to achieve net zero emissions through the card game based on a set of tools and data made available to them.
