Er. Ng and Dr. Ong have both significantly impacted the field of engineering and built environment through their leadership, technical expertise, and dedication to practice professionally, being innovative and giving back to the engineering community and society. They co-founded ONE SMART Engineering Pte Ltd, a multi-disciplinary consultancy firm with specialization in geotechnical engineering, recognized for its roles in major infrastructure projects such as MRT Circle Line, Downtown Line, Thomson East Coast Line and Cross Island Line, Singapore Power Cable Tunnel, PUB Major Water Supply and Sewerage pipelines, Marina East Desalination Plant, Kallang Paya Lebar Expressway, North South Corridor underground road tunnels, Tekong Polder, Changi East Reclamation,, Tengah Airbase, Changi Airbase, Siglap Canal and Alexandra Canal projects. Their works have garnered numerous awards, including being named one of the Top 10 Civil & Structural Engineering Consultants in Asia in 2022.

Both Er. Ng and Dr. Ong are deeply committed to mentoring young engineers and supporting academia. Er. Ng is an adjunct lecturer at IES and BCA Academy, and acting as industry expert for NUS Final Year Design Project, while Dr. Ong collaborates with institutions like NUS and SIT, giving talks on industry practices, is a consultant of the NUS MSc Capstone project. Both of them are NUS Doctor of Engineering DEmg Research Student Supervisor and have published more than 100 technical papers in journals and conference proceedings and they are frequent speakers at conferences and have contributed to advancing engineering practices through their involvement in international committees. Their work exemplifies innovation, leadership, and a commitment to public service, sustainability, and the professional development of future engineers.
