A chat among a couple of Electrical Engineering Alumni from the Class of 1995 escalated into a spontaneous gathering on campus in 2024 that left many wanting to connect more. Seeing that 2025 would mark their 30th graduation anniversary, an organising team came together to plan a 30th Year Graduation Reunion Party in 2025, aiming to bring back as many alumni as possible.

On 8 Nov 2025, 50 alumni, including one who made a 24-hour journey from overseas, gathered at the Shaw Foundation Alumni House. Another two lecturers who taught them 30 years ago, Professor John Thong and Professor SJ Chua, together with the present Head of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, Professor Biplab Sikdar, and other current faculty were in attendance. This made for a wonderful connection between the past and present.

The alumni received an update on the latest College of Design and Engineering developments from current Deputy Head, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Dr Rajesh C Panicker, and also heard how paying it forward with donations to the bursary helps thousands of students yearly. Little quizzes and activities throughout the event brought much laughter and many fond memories of our four years at NUS Electrical Engineering. The three-hour event felt too short when it came to an end, and many continued chatting on chat groups and are already preparing for outings together. A great success!
