DEP5108 Internship Module
The Internship Module offers students the opportunity to gain practical experience in urban planning and research by serving as an intern in a private company or public organization.
The internship may be self-sourced or arranged by the Departments of Architecture and Real Estate. Self-sourced internships have to be reviewed by the departments before they can be approved for credits. To aid this review process, students are required to obtain a letter of undertaking from the company offering the internship, stating the duration of the internship and the general scope of work the student will be involved in. Any remuneration is to be negotiated by the student and the company offering the internship.
The internship lasts for a minimum period of two months and is conducted on a full-time basis (40 hours/week). It takes the place of two electives.
Students should participate in relevant planning and/or research projects, and their work will be supervised and evaluated by the program director of MUP or an appointed tutor of the programme. At the end of the internship, students are required to submit a report where they reflect on their experiences.
