ABSTRACT

The energy sector accounts for more than 70% of the carbon emissions globally. Apart from adopting the solar panels and other renewable energy options, there are several other initiatives that can reduce energy sector carbon emissions. This talk will present a broader overview of the energy sector from generations to utilities to consumers and discuss key opportunities for carbon reduction. It will briefly touch upon different technology options and also discuss how they are linked to the overarching goals. Apart from this, the policy aspects of energy-related carbon emissions will be reviewed along with a look into the latest Singapore Green Plan.
