Rediscovery
The brief calls for a concert hall designed with the engagement of the water body in relation to the urban context. As the site lies along the newly planned dam, the project was tasked to design with the objective of filtering strong winds such that the sounds of the waves could rediscovered.
A series of digital studies was simulated to attain the optimum formal language to reduce the high intensity to optimum levels of wind flow.
The formalistic approach was realised through a series of generative design strategies as well as a study of naval architecture. The openings on the facade allows for views towards the sea as well as a closer engagement towards the water body. This resulted in an integrated structure that fulfills the intent of an entertainment enclave, rediscovery and the experience of floating into the concert hall and the other public spaces as well.
