Linkways@Nyengseret

As the street facing façade of a public housing development at Nyengseret, Bandung, the apartment tower and mall podium serves as the commercial hub of the area. Revenue acquired are used to fund the subsidized housing through a public-private partnership. Hence, retail space for anchor tenants and areas for commercial frontage are maximized, connected by multiple loops of circulation.

Retail spaces pixelate and dissolve towards market street, which acts as a strategy to transit from the main road to fine-grained market. The project boasts a porous facade which houses the market which promotes more intimate transactions and a facade which faces the city as a play of volumes.

The podium also reinforces the identity of Bandung as a garden city by providing a sky garden for residents above with multiple terraces for customers where they can pluck and buy freshly grown produce.
