One of the impending global issues for the next generation is the threat of the food crisis. Urban expansion and limited agricultural and plantation land will make food sources difficult, especially for those living in urban areas. By presenting sigit.kusumawijaya’s architectural concepts and works, this lecture offers an alternative in anticipating the threat of the food crisis, focusing on the application of green buildings combined with the concept of urban farming (urban agriculture). This concept not only offers beauty from an aesthetic point of view and micro-temperature conditioning, but it also provides added value by utilizing plants that can be harvested and consumed by the owners and users of the building.
