ABSTRACT
Designers need explore new paths to decarbonize the building sector and designing for comfort using less resources. Thermal comfort is affected by many factors and closely linked to the passive and active qualities of the build environment. This lecture will lay grounds on the major environmental parameters affecting thermal comfort in the context of tropical climate and link the topic to Transsolar project examples.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Wolfgang´s knowledge over many years on ventilation systems and energy efficient buildings have led him to develop innovative solutions with architects and design teams worldwide in diverse climatic environments. Since many years his team is developing projects to improve outdoor comfort in urban settings. He has managed high profile international projects of different scale and complexity realizing sustainable design vision which resulted in celebrated architecture as well as adaptive comfort projects with focus on practical and context sensitive solutions.
