Overview

The Technologies cluster investigates environmentally performative and sustainable building forms and systems, geospatial and data-driven urban planning, and generative-evaluative processes for designing healthy and liveable urban environments. It contributes to a new understanding of the human ecosystem and the relationships between form and performance, mainly in the context of climate change, an ageing society, and ageing infrastructure. Its research employs traditional and emerging technologies including, among others, AI/deep learning, urban analytics, and virtual prototyping. It researches on the relationship between human and natural landscapes, at every scale, from the building component scale to the urban scale. Special emphasis is placed on the context of high density Asian cities and the context of the Tropics.
