Professor Phoon Kok Kwang and PhD alumni Dr Tang Chong were awarded the ASCE Norman Medal,2020

Our heartiest congratulations to Professor Phoon Kok Kwang and our PhD alumni Dr Tang Chong who are awarded the ASCE Norman Medal for their paper, Tang, C. & Phoon, K. K., “Statistics of Model Factors and Consideration in Reliability-Based Design of Axially Loaded Helical Piles”, Journal of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering, ASCE, Aug 2018, 144(8), 04018050.

The Norman Medal is the highest honor granted by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) for a technical paper that “makes definitive contribution to engineering science”

Professor Phoon holds the position of Senior Vice Provost (Academic Affairs) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and is presently a Distinguished Professor. Prof Phoon has been awarded with ASCE Norman Medal twice, in year 2005 and in 2020.
