Professor Liew Mun Leong

Professor Liew Mun Leong was the founding President & CEO of CapitaLand Group, a public listed real estate company, which under his watch, has become the largest real estate group in South East Asia, operating in over 20 countries.
Prof Liew graduated from the University of Singapore with a Civil Engineering degree in 1970. He has spent 22 years in public service, developing Singapore’s Changi Airport, military airports and establishments, and heading two science and technology boards. He was the Registrar of the Professional Engineers Board. He has also served in international public institutions and was President of the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) from 1997 – 1998. In the private sector, he has had more than 20 years of experience leading and directing public companies listed in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Australia. He is one of the Asia’s most prominent business leaders, and through his various contributions, he has helped develop Singapore into thriving international business centre.
Prof Liew has received numerous awards, including the Public Administration Medal, the prestigious Meritorious Service Medal and our Distinguished Engineering Alumni Award. He was named Best CEO in Singapore by FinanceAsia in 2011.
Presently, he serves as Chairman of Changi Airport Group, Surbana International Consultants Holdings and Pavilion Gas, and sits on the board of Singapore Exchange.
