Is awarded by Tunnelling and Underground Construction Society (Singapore) for outstanding candidate/s in MSc (Geotechnical Engineering) programme in NUS.

Eligibility

Qualified outstanding candidate/s in MSc Geotechnical who has/have read at least 4 courses and preferably with some working experience in Geotechnical field, especially in tunneling and underground construction. Applicant should not be a concurrent recipient of any other forms of aids such as grants, bursaries and scholarships.

The Scholarship is open to students who are Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents.

Award Amount

This scholarship shall be awarded to either a full-time student or 2 part-time students in MSc (Geotechnical Engineering) program. The maximum value of each Scholarship is S$8,000 per annum for full-time or S$4,000 for part-time students, respectively.

Award Period

The scholarship is for one academic year (Semester 1 & 2) and a student can be awarded the scholarship only once.

Bond

No bond is required.

Application Procedure

Applications will be by invitation only.

Notification of Award

Applicants will be informed of the outcome of their applications sometime in July/August (for August intake only).

Terms and Conditions

Successful applicants are required to sign a letter undertaking agreeing to observe the following terms and conditions for the award of the Scholarship. The awardee should seek concurrence from the employer for the award of this scholarship for his/her M.Sc. (Geotechnical Engineering) study, remain in the course upon award of scholarship. Leave of absence is considered valid (provided application done before the Instructional Week 2), and must read a minimum of 2 courses if he/she is a part-time student and a minimum of 4 courses if he/she is a full-time student (unless timetable arrangement does not permit).
