CWR Seminar: Novel Processes for Emerging Pollutant Control and Ecological Safety Improvement

The CWR Seminar on Novel Processes for Emerging Pollutant Control and Ecological Safety Improvement was successfully held on June 7th.

Firstly, Prof. Hu Jiangyong, Director of the Centre for Water Research, gave a welcome speech.

Then three PhD and  MEng candidates and Prof. Ma Xiaoyan from Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology  gave the excellent seminar talks about their research.

Mr. Zhong Yu  gave a presentation about “Disinfection by-products control in wastewater effluents treated with ozone and biological activated carbon followed by UV/Chlor(am)ine processes”.

Ms. You Na gave a presentation about “Investigate the Catalytic Performance of Ferromanganese Oxide-Functionalized Ceramic Membrane (MFOx@CCM) as a Nano-Reactor (NR) in Ozonation Process”.

Ms. Dong Zhan gave a presentation about “Exploring the co-selection non-antibiotic factors in Singapore’s recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) and associated mechanisms of antibiotic resistance”.

Prof. Ma Xiaoyan gave a presentation about “The ecological safety improvement of reclaimed water system which combined engineering and natural means”.

After all the talks, participants raised a number of interesting questions and discussed about the various technologies for pollutant removal in water.
