Co-organized by IES and CWR
Venue: Water Science and Technology lab
Date: 11 December 2017
Time: 1.30 – 4.30 pm
In collaboration with IES-NUS, the CWR was involved in the Youth Engineering Challenge 2017 where students were introduced to different engineering disciplines through various engineering challenges and activities. Some 20 students from various junior colleges and polytechnics visited the CWR laboratory on 11st Dec. 2017 and performed experiments involving the treatment of surface water using coagulation and flocculation as well as physical filtration process. The hands-on experience gave the students a glimpse into the work of an environmental engineer to provide solutions to cleanup, remediate and treat polluted water. Professor Hu Jiangyong, Director of Environmental Program, at Department of Civil and Env. Eng., NUS also shared with the students regarding the growing needs for environmental engineers and the exciting prospects in the field.
