Microplastics (MPs) are ubiquitous in the environment and subjected to a variety of natural processes, thus the understanding of their removal/aging behaviors has become a research hotspot. Due to the short period required, removal of MPs induced by advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) are popular currently, among which accelerated irradiation via ultraviolet (UV) exposure is of great significance considering UV is widely applied in water treatment plants.
