Biography
Professor Chin has taught courses on Traffic Engineering, Transportation Planning and Traffic Management. Among his research interests in transportation are transport systems modelling, transportation safety and congestion management. He has published some 40 papers in journals and conferences related to traffic management and safety of transportation systems. He has also undertaken a number of projects with local land and port authorities as well as private companies to evaluate the performance of their transportation systems. A registered professional engineer and an accredited road safety auditor, he has undertaken a number of traffic impact studies and road safety reviews in Singapore.
Prof Chin has been on several government committees and transport interest groups to review land transport policies and road safety practices in Singapore. Prof Chin is the Vice Chairman of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport as well as a member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Transport Management.
