Biography

Dr. Ng Hsiao Piau is a Director at Building and Construction Authority (BCA) Built Environment Research and Innovation Institute (BERII). He leads the Advanced Construction & Innovation Planning Department (ACIPD) which oversees Science & Technology (S&T) planning, development of technology roadmaps, and implementation through various research, innovation and enterprise (RIE) programmes. The Cities of Tomorrow (CoT) R&D Programme, which he manages, supports various research and innovation efforts in Robotics & Automation, and Advanced Construction Materials. Additionally, he oversees the BE Living Lab Framework (BE LLF) and Building Innovation Panel (BIP) which facilitates test-bedding and deployment of innovative solutions. Hsiao Piau holds a PhD and Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering from National University of Singapore, and did his post-doctoral training at Harvard University. He was a recipient of the A*STAR Graduate Scholarship (PhD) and A*STAR Graduate Scholarship (Post-Doc). |
