Overseas Opportunity

EXCHANGE PROGRAMME

Student Exchange Programme (SEP)

This popular option lets you experience independent living and learning in a different culture for a semester (or two). The college has over 110 partner universities in 32 countries, including premier institutions, such as the University of California, Imperial College London, University of Tokyo and Tsinghua University. Furthermore, we are the only college in the world to have exchanges with both Cambridge and Oxford universities.

SEP typically takes place in Year 3, although application and selection occurs a year in advance. You must design your own study plan by mapping modules at your intended exchange university to equivalent modules in your BEng (CE) curriculum. However, the grades you obtain while on SEP are not included in the calculation of your CAP, and credits are transferred on a Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory basis.

Competition for this life-changing opportunity is keen, but if you are an E-Scholar, you are guaranteed a 6-month stint at one of the 11 NOCs. The entrepreneurship education of NOC is also recommended if you are pursing the second major in Innovation and Design (iDP).

International Summer (& Winter) Programmes (i-SP)

Coinciding with the NUS vacations, these shorter overseas programmes still immerse you in a foreign environment while you earn credits without affecting your regular academic schedule. Just as with SEP, you would need to prepare a study plan by mapping relevant modules.
