CFI Singapore's core research is aligned along two horizontal domain areas (H1 and H2) that aim to generate new knowledge in coastal sciences and develop tools for monitoring and prediction of the coastal environment, and two vertical domain areas (V1 and V2) that will develop innovative engineering and integrated nature-based solutions for coastal protection and flood management.

The following nine research projects in the first tranche have been approved to commence in the second half of 2023.
