Project Name: Next-Gen Accessibility: Future-Ready Travel for Senior Travelers at Changi Airport
Challenge Statement: How might we make travel more accessible for senior travellers at Changi Airport?

Changi Airport sets the global standard for seamless travel, combining efficiency, technology, and iconic experiences. As the world ages and travel demand grows, it is placing greater emphasis on accessibility and inclusion for senior travellers aged 65 and above, including those with mobility, visual, cognitive, or other limitations. 

This studio challenged students to reimagine departure, transit, and arrival experiences for these diverse needs. Through research and observation at the airport, students explored the physical, psychological, and cultural realities of ageing travellers, including family structures and attitudes towards technology, service, and autonomy. They mapped key touchpoints to identify gaps and developed inclusive interventions that merge physical and digital experiences, leveraging technologies such as AI and wearables. 

Ultimately, the project aimed not only to accommodate senior travellers, but to empower them—transforming the airport experience into an inclusive one for all.
