Alum provides our IPM students with a great learning experience

Ms Foo Li Lian (Class 2015) connected the Department to the SMRT outreach team to provide a terrific learning opportunity for our students.

Infrastructure and Project Management (IPM) undergraduates visited the Singapore Rail Discovery Centre and SMRT Mandai Rail Depot to view the inner workings of Singapore's rail infrastructure. They particularly enjoyed the close-up look at the rolling stock used on the Thomson Line in the state-of-the-art Mandai Rail Depot. Li Lian shared her career journey in rail infrastructure, inspiring our students to join the rail infrastructure sector.

Sharing of Rollo at a PechaKucha

Koh Bei Ning (Class of 2022) was invited to share her journey of bringing Rollo to market at a PechaKucha on 25 January at Ikigai Izakaya. Rollo began as part of her final year project under the Division of Industrial Design in 2022 and is now two months from its official launch!

A PechaKucha presentation is a format that uses 20 slides or images that are displayed for 20 seconds each. Moving slides automatically as the presenter speaks ensures that the speaker is concise, keeps the presentation moving, and gets through all the content.

Along with 11 other speakers from diverse backgrounds, Bei Ning aimed to inspire and bring an authentic human experience. She shared the design process behind Rollo, her motivation in bringing it to market and what she hoped for Rollo to do for users in the space of itch relief products.

It was the first time Bei Ning had to speak in front of a large audience of more than 100 people, and from all accounts, it was an experience she would not soon forget! More about Rollo at https://rollo.sg/
