STUDENT ACHIEVEMENTS & STUDENT LIFE

'Pawsitive' therapy with our furry friends

On 1 April 2024, the CDE Office of Student Life held the Take a Paws pet therapy workshop at E-Cubes, as part of a series of workshops to promote student wellness. Student participants got to play with three adorable dogs, giving them treats and much attention.

For Joel, a final year Project and Facilities Management student (now Infrastructure and Project Management), the session was “a great way to destress after completing my Final Year Project!”

Bonding over sticky rolls!

On 3 April 2024, the CDE Office of Student Life and NUS Bakers & Cooks held two cooking workshops at CDE’s kitchen in the To-Gather space, at Level 3 of TechnoEdge. Guided by members of the cooking interest group, student participants tried their hand at making Fan Tuan (飯糰), or sticky rice rolls. The students enjoyed conversations with each other over their culinary adventures and were delighted by their tasty creations.

Sweating away the stress

On 12 April 2024, the CDE Office of Student Life organised an urban hike for students to get their bodies moving, while exploring parts of the city. Twenty-one students and wellness ambassadors decided to spend the evening stretching their legs on the roughly 4 km route from Stadium MRT to the Marina Barrage.

Following some quick icebreakers, the group first made their way past the Sports Hub before crossing over to Tanjong Rhu, taking in the idyllic waters of the Kallang Basin. They then trekked towards Gardens by the Bay East. As they hiked along the Bay East Garden, the students could take in the stunning sights of Gardens by the Bay and the iconic Singapore skyline.

It was time to eat once the hike ended at the Marina Barrage! Our participants had a delightful dinner at Satay by the Bay, which was a satisfying end to the hike.
